Replace missing teeth with modern dental implants.
Dental implants at BrightSmiles Dental are designed to look, feel, and function like natural teeth. If you're missing one tooth or several, implants can help restore your bite, your confidence, and your smile.
Who is a good candidate for dental implants?
The best way to find out if implants are right for you is a one-on-one consultation. We'll review your goals, take digital images, and discuss the health of your teeth, gums, and jawbone.
- • You have one or more missing teeth
- • Your jawbone is healthy enough to support an implant, or can be built up with grafting
- • You’re free of uncontrolled medical conditions that affect healing
- • You’re a non-smoker or willing to discuss how tobacco affects success rates
- • You want a long-term solution instead of a temporary fix
What happens at an implant consultation?
- • We listen to what you'd like to change about your smile or bite.
- • We review your medical history and answer questions.
- • We take any needed X-rays or scans to evaluate bone and nearby teeth.
- • We explain treatment options, timelines, and fees in plain language.
A consultation doesn't lock you into treatment. It's a chance to understand your options and decide what feels right for you.
Typical steps in dental implant treatment
Every case is different, but most implant treatments follow several key phases. We'll walk you through timing and expectations before we begin.
- Consultation & planning. We confirm you're a good candidate, take images, and design your treatment plan.
- Placement of the implant post. A small titanium or zirconia post is placed in the jawbone where the root used to be.
- Healing & bonding. Over the next few months, the bone naturally bonds to the implant in a process called osseointegration.
- Abutment & impression. Once healed, we place a connector piece (abutment) and take precise impressions for your restoration.
- Final crown, bridge, or denture. Your custom tooth-colored restoration is attached to the implant and adjusted for a comfortable bite.
Dental implant FAQ
A few of the most common questions patients ask when they're thinking about replacing missing teeth with implants.
What is a dental implant?+
A dental implant is a small, biocompatible post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. After it heals and bonds with your bone, we place a custom crown, bridge, or denture on top so you can chew and smile comfortably again.
How long do dental implants last?+
With proper care, dental implants can last many years. No dental treatment is truly permanent, but implants are designed as a long-term solution and often last decades when maintained with good home care and regular checkups.
Are dental implants painful?+
Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the procedure feels. We use numbing and can discuss additional comfort options if needed. Some soreness afterward is normal, but it’s usually manageable with over-the-counter medication.
Are dental implants covered by insurance?+
Coverage varies by plan. Some dental insurance policies help with parts of implant treatment, while others do not. At your consultation, we’ll review your benefits and provide a written estimate before you decide.
